We started off by looking at strategy that will take us into the future. It is well-known that strategy implementation is one of the most difficult aspects to be managed by the MoT executive. The biggest failures in enterprises are as a result of strategy not being implemented. The primary purpose of a Target Operating Model (TOM) is to enable the application of a corporate strategy or vision to a business or operation. It is a high-level representation of how a company can be best organised to more efficiently and effectively deliver and execute on the organisation’s strategy. The TOM glues together strategy, people and processes. In this module you as MoT executive will learn how to design and implement a TOM. It addresses the organisational structure, culture, the customer journey, business processes and governance and financial controls. The target is the desired future selected in the future thinking and scenario processes.
